Dr. Max Hines

Dr. Max Hines is a licensed psychologist with a PhD in Counseling Psychology from University of Minnesota. He is dually trained as a counseling psychologist and a family therapist.  With 30 years of clinical experience, he now works primarily with individuals and couples. Dr. Hines makes effort to match the therapy with the client’s needs and strengths.  He draws upon person-centered therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, EMDR for trauma, as well as communication skills and EFT/attachment theory for couples.  In addition, he has interest, training and experience with geriatric psychology, insomnia and pain management. As the Training Director of the PSPC Internship Program, he supervises interns and mentors psychiatric residents.  Dr. Hines was Chair of Counseling & School Psychology at Seattle University, Dean and founder of Washington School of Professional Psychology (now part of Argosy University), and a full professor/Associate Vice President at Northwestern Health Sciences University (Bloomington, MN). He aspires to be compassionate, attuned and responsive to client’s needs, dedicated to facilitating progress toward client’s goals.
